My wife found these in an antique area of a furniture store in Brenham, Tx. on our way back from our last antique shopping trip to Galveston. She noticed right away that these prints are by the same person as the one on the antique jewelry box I posted in another area. The frames on these are in great shape and are approximately 5" x 7". I've been able to find quite a few digital copies of the 'Godey's Lady's Book' on the internet and have started to search to see if I can find the colorized versions of these. I took the photos without flash and then tried to enhance the brightness/contrast so they were better able to be seen.
Ironically, I have some similar prints I ran across in my hoard just recently. Mine were framed in the late 20s-30s based on a poster and wrap used as backing. It was popular to frame these catalog pages up in to the 50s. Unfortunately, they have little value today. I bought mine for next to nothing at a thrift store several years ago. I believe I had them in my retail space for similar money to what yours are marked and, later, discounted without any takers. Back in the hoard they went, not to see the light of day til recently. Truth be known, framing the poster graphics and gift wrap would net better profit.
Thanks, I didn't think there was much value to them at all. My wife just liked them so up to the register they went.
