Picked up this vase and have not been able to identify the maker. I don't know if this is true MCM or if it is more modern and retro. I was told the form is for forcing bulbs and I have found others with similar shapes described as such. I get a Scandinavian vibe from this but who knows? It stands 8" tall, has 2 mold seams, and the top is ground and polished.

    Thanks! That was really fast.

There is some crud inside and some mineral deposits in the top that I need to clean. Some hydrochloric acid helped but did not do the job completely. Maybe I just need to keep at it. Any other ideas?

For mineral deposits, I make a paste of Bar Keepers friend and use a scotch brite pad with some elbow grease. You may or may not get all of it off.

Sometimes in desperation, I will use 600 wet and dry sandpaper (I'm sure you already know it's carbodium paper - the black stuff).
Not recommended for really nice pieces, but if it is already ruined, I figure I have nothing to loose.

Lime Away, in desperation, has worked well for me.

If the deposits have actually etched the glass, which is entirely possible, the only option is to polish. It's what people mean when they talk about "sick glass".
