Glass- Santa on chimney- Mustard jar? candy container

  1. Hey there Glassies, a glass question for you. I've looked through McCain, and my two glass animal/figures books, Kovar's Westmoreland book, and my glass novelties book and haven't found this one. Any thoughts on maker for it? Thanks for looking.

Looks like a Christmas novelty for candy guessing circa 1940's. Is it a glass lid or a bottom opening? If bottom it would have had a metal or paper closure. Millstien made candy containers reminiscent of this. I can not get to the books until later.

There are 2 versions of this one with full pack and yours with the empty pack. They are shown in plate 26 "A Century of Glass Toys" by Mary Louis Stanley. Unfortunately no maker.
