IMG_0371.jpg I just found out today there is a Cape Cod Glass Club and they had their 31st annual show and sale at the Community College today. If you are a glassie, you'd have loved it. I picked up one antique salt and a few small ones that were being sold by the club. I thought I only had four or five at home until I got back and realized that with my new acquisitions, I have 24. Guess that makes me an official collector. LOL.

I think a couple of the larger ones are for jelly or mustard, but they were freebies so they joined the group.

Hey, sorry you didn't go yesterday, I was working the gate from 10:00 - 1:00.

It is a great show, I see glass there that I only dream of seeing!

I can't believe I never heard of it. Of course, as soon as I mentioned salts I was invited to join the Salt Collectors Club. Like I need one more thing to do! They were selling small ones for $5 each to help the Glass Club which is how I ended up with the whole set of small figural ones - heart, star etc. I couldn't break up the set. Those are the ones in the middle. The Grecian urn looking one with the 'ears' was my mother's and I played with that when I was 5 or 6. That was the only one I had for years.

The set you bought, Heart, star, etc. May a a jewel in them. Pick one up, finger inside, thumb on the bottom, raise one to eye level, view it from the side, closely. If the top of the ribs come to a point (^), they were made by Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton, of Findlay Ohio, and may have extra value. (Identifiable Manufacturer). If not, you've got some very nice salts, anyway.

Interesting. On five of them the ribs go from top to bottom. On the floral with 6 petals there are points. Well, extra value is good if my kids eventually have a tag sale. ;)
