Glass Perfume Bottle

I have an opaline glass perfume bottle with hand painted decoration. Going by the shape I believe that this is Victorian era from Bohemia. Bottle measures 8 3/8" tall at the top of the stopper and is 3 5/8" wide at the largest point. The bottom of the stopper look like it may have a maker's marks or perhaps artist signature. Hoping someone can confirm my thoughts or point me in the right direction if I am wrong. thanks

 

I've no argument with your thinking on age or origin. Late 19th, early 20th, I call it milk glass, but hey. The mark to the bottom of the stopper is probably to match it with the base, rather than being a maker's mark. It's hand enamelled in gold, rather than painted, if we're being picky. Nice thing.

 

Thanks for the replies. I don't know if this is okay to ask or not, but would anyone have an idea of a price to ask for this. These are not something I usually deal in.

 

Hm. If I sold it here, at auction, I think the equivalent of 30 to 40 dollars. Depends to a great extent on what you paid for it.

 

Thanks, I only paid a couple of dollars for it at a local thrift shop, so not a lot of money invested.

 

In that case, start at say, $35 and see where it goes. Nice find.
