    Hi,
I was thinking Czech on this but not finding the shape so maybe French? Stands 6"H.
    any ideas appreciated!
    thanks for looking.

I see a few of those painted pieces and have quizzed Craig (the Moderator on the FB Glass page) and he said to me that a lot of houses (Czech) used this technique and narrowing down a maker would be very tough to do.

    I'd lean towards Czech.

And by technique I mean the painted on decoration (especially with the black)

Thanks desperate! Yes, I thought Czech originally but wanted to check. I wondered if the metal bit at the top could be a clue, no marks on it though.
I posted this on the FB page too.

    CX,

I saw your post there as well. Hopefully someone will recognize it and offer up more info.

Desperate_fun is correct, the closest you will probably ever get is c.1920s to c.1930s Czechoslovakia. Some companies like DeVilbiss would put on their own collars to fit their atomizers, but I do not know if they all did that. So this collar may have been put on by the Czech maker.

That orange glass and the enamelling is classic Bohemian/Czech.

    OBB,

That orange is painted on (At least that is what it looks like)

It looks flashed, rather than enamelled or painted.

I'm not sure if this is considered flashed or not. I always thought flashed glass was another layer painted on/added and then cut back to show the original colour.

Flashed isn't always cut. That's a good article, that.
