Hi again, not sure what I have here. I don't know if this is a bottle that sat in some sort of base and had a lid on its short neck or if it was a top that inserted into a bottle. It has a lot of bubbles in it and it attractive whatever it is. It stands around 3.75" tall and about the same across the bottom. Thanks in advance for any ideas, help or leads.

Just a wild thought which might or might NOT make sense....wondering if a cork might have fit into that opening to make a tight fit????? Regardless, it's interesting!!!!:happy:

Yes, I can see where a cork makes sense.

It's a stopper. Genie bottle type, so might have had plastic.

If it is a stopper, why does the opening have a lipped edge?

The lipped edge may have helped hold the plastic cap.

Yup, spot on. The plastic bits are sort of ridged, and they squeeze over that lip.

I see what you are talking about. Most stoppers I’ve seen don’t have sleeves but checking, I find many do. I wish I could find the actual bottle. Thanks again!

Those stoppers sell really well, people are always after them, especially actual Empoli ones.
