    Hi everybody,

Does anybody know the origin and function of this box?
It has a bronzen lid, with some engraving on it.
I don't know if this is anything special.

I haven't bought the item yet.

I hope somebody knows more about it.

    Thanks!

    You're right ;)

    The dimensions are:
    8x8x8,5 cm.

    (3.15x3.15.x3.35 inches)

    And shouldn't a inkwell be air-tight?

The bronze somehow has a indian touch,
    if you ask me.

    many are
    many are not....
the staining on the underside of your lid......shows a nice fit...for what appears to be a hand hammered lid.
the opening is indeed rather large for an inkwell and the item may have contained ...something else..!

The lid and lid base were cast,no hammering involved.

likely...but it's the thickness that is uneven...that's throwing me off...
