Is this Indiana glass for Tiara. Finding many other colors but not this.

Yeah, KOT, many of them out there.

Kard, kind of hard to tell. But I can't think of anyone else who would have done it in purple. I don't know of any other current or recent makers. Though I do hesitate to say that Tiara had an elephant at a house party.

Is this the 7 1/2 inch one?

Sorry, just found my notes and Tiara did have a clear one, but it says frosted for most recent ones. Other clears include light pink but not attributed to Indiana/Tiara. Is yours pink or purple-ish?

Yeah, about 7" long. Color is clear with purple/violet and bluish and greenish tint.

OK, you, Kard, ain't gonna come back because you don't want to hear what I dug up.
Yours is NOT the repro shown in a 1991 AA Importing Co. Catalog. # 56.
Providing yours is in the 8 inch range.

The original mould, which Indiana used, has a V shape raised trunk. The repro's trunk forms more of a U. The repro head lobes are not as obvious, making an almost smooth slope from from the trunk to the almost the tail.

At least that's what I'm looking at. To be more certain better pics would be necessary. With a nice solid, not grained background.

You showed up while I was struggling with the $+_*@%* pictures. Had to erase and start all over again.

OK, does not mean yours is Indiana, but you can humbly remark that you believe - think - might be yours is made from the original Co-Operative Flint Glass Co.

I would not be that aggressive. From what I've seen so far yours is better than AA's repro.

I might come over and knock that off your window sill onto the cement sidewalk if you insist it has greenish tints.

Looks like the grass and trees from my angle.

    One more try. OK?

Kard, Do us a favor, please.
I don't think you are home or have been since early afternoon. That's OK with me, no problem. But it's easy for me to get cornfuzed.

I'm going to give you what I have so far.
Very nice elephant, nice coloring in various reds/pinks.
Unusual coloring and extensive searches have so far discovered no similar pieces.
    8" long, about 4 1/2 high.
In good condition. With no obvious imperfections.

Not foreign made for AA importing Co
Not made by Indiana Glass Co.
90% sure not made for Tiara. Similar were made, but best known only in frosted glass.
Possibly foreign made copy. Taiwan?, which does excellent reproductions from new moulds.
Other companies have made similar, but easily distinguishable.glass elephants with lids..
(Not pertinent, but best we know, Fenton never made a glass elephant resembling Co-op Flints.)
Est. value? Whatever the market will pay.

Congrats and thanks. YOU FOUND the answer. The above linked publication I never saw. That fills in the parts I missed.

Colors made include amber transparent, black, cobalt, crystal, crystal with fired-on colors, green transparent, milk and pink transparent ruby, and light blue transparent. There are at least two different shades of light blue--aqua and a deeper Ritz blue. In 1981, these elephants were made in crystal and filled with red, white and blue jelly beans for distribution to members of the National Federation of Republican Women. In 1983, the Tiara Exclusives Division of Indiana Glass Company marketed this elephant in pink satin, blue satin, green satin and crystal with an etching. Later, the mold was acquired by a Midwest importer and reproductions have been seen in pink, green ruby?? ....... Do they really mean green AND ruby in one piece?? Does yours have both green and red in it???? That's quite a trick moulding something like that. and cobalt from this source. These later issues all have a natural back.

Not sure which "MidWest importer" they mean. MidWest is a company that does sell this type item, but no imports. The one I mentioned before - AA has been importing for at least 25 years but hasn't, as far as I know, ever had a US company make anything.

I'd really appreciate a few pictures without the reflections. That's very difficult to do. It usually takes me ten tries on any crystal item. But if you can do it I'd love a better idea of how the coloring looks.

Thanks very much, Kard. Honestly, that color combo is hard to believe. Anyone here ever seen a crystal piece with that variety?

The color decoration reminds me of the Hebron drip stained glass but they are usually frosted but not crystal.

Kard, did you ever think you might have one of a kind?

Fenton - I don't think they ever did one. You're not saying Joe Namath did, are you? :D
Serious, folks. I've never seen, or even heard of, such a color mix.
    ANYONE?????
