Glass Bulldog Car Mascot?

    Hi all
    Anyone have any ideas about this piece please?
    It’s glass on a Bakelite base. The little Art Deco type touches on the base makes me think it’s from that period but no nothing about the piece unfortunately.
    the dog measures 13cm and the whole piece 17. It isn't quite as yellowish as it has come out in the photos, much more clear in natural light.
    Done a bit of googling and didn’t find anything similar
    Any help appreciated.

    How does the dog attach to the base? Threaded?

    Does the base underside show any evidence of a way for it to attach to something else?
