GLASS BOTTOM LANTERN A RR LANTERN OR JUST A CANDLE HOLDER?

    Found this today & was excited because I thought it was a old RR lantern, but then I saw a glass bottom & no place for fuel or a wick - what is this & is it as old as it looks?

    I think it's a candle holder now, although it was an oil lantern to begin with. :)

    I couldn’t say much as to use, but looks perfect a for “Man Cave”

    I bought a really beat-up railroad lantern that was missing its burner a few years back. It had the railroad name on it, and for a buck it was a no-brainer. Dropped a jar candle in the holder and gave it to a rail nut friend for Christmas. (He talked about that for months.) There was probably some sort of burner in this one too that's gone missing.

    Yes, as other have said, it was a 3 lens lantern at one time. Here is what it looked like with all the pieces

    Is it a switch lantern? Because I can't find mine searching with '3 lens lantern'

    the photos of the one I posted is what yours should like, notice the top and bottom pieces are missing on yours:)
