Givenchy necklace?

    I got this necklace at a yard sale years ago and just ran across it while cleaning out my jewelry. I tried to do some digging on google but was unsuccessful. I’m sure it is costume jewelry. It says “Givenchy New York Paris” with a G above Givenchy on both the clasp and pendant. Can anyone tell me anything about this necklace? Thanks ☺️

    GIVENCHY began licensing costume jewelry in the 1970s. To my eye, your piece appears to be 1980s-ish.

    I agree.
    There is a lot of replica Givenchy jewellery, but I don't know if replicas were already made in the 80s. Seems to be a more recent thing.
    Givenchy replicas sell for nice prices too, by the way.
