I read with interest @Bookahtoo's post about her gold chain link necklace. So when I went to the resale shop today and saw a 24 inch long gold chain link necklace that weighs 4.7 ounces, I decided to investigate. (I love this forum!) I discovered it was marked Givenchy, so I checked the web and found the exact same necklace which was claimed as Givenchy (better pictures than mine). https://www.farfetch.com/shopping/w...KY9ZS31Em4Mk9icZrOFl8dgJwf6YcBThoCESMQAvD_BwE. The question for you all is it gold plated as the one above or gold toned like this one.

Now this article only speaks to gold plated, but perhaps later they added gold tone. Any comments will be gratefully appreciated.

I think all Givenchy is goldtone rather than plated. I've never had anything else, at least.

Thanks. You have a lot more experience than I do. This is my first.

    Agreed: Givenchy is gold tone.

Thanks for taking a look. I was confused when some said plated and some said tone. It really makes no difference as I like the piece, but I want to develop an eye for nicer things and your comments make that possible.

I don't think it matters with decent costume, to be honest. (I had that very conversation with someone sellin at a car boot today!) It's design and how well it's made. And as we both agreed, the instrinsic value of even Faberge can be peanuts.
