Gilbert Holiday "The Royal Horse Artillery" 1985 Limited Edition print.

This was also one of the first pieces I bought when I started collecting, along with the Hattie E. Burdette of George Washington being my my first purchase. I've found the gallery online that is listed on the verso and they are selling limited prints of the same painting, rolled in a tube, for $300. This is an older print and framed, I would think it would be a little more than $300.

I got this for $30.

You'll be lucky if you get your $30 back... cuz ain't nobody buying this type of artwork.

There was an original painting of his (watercolor and gouache) that sold a few years ago for less than $300.

 

I don't plan on selling it anyways. So it will be up to someone else down the road to decide if they want to keep it or sell it. For now, it will hang on my wall in my living room.

 

I guess it would hurt to hope that a movie comes out about him, if there already hasn't been one.

 

Just wanted to mention that the writing on the back says "After Gilbert Holiday." This would mean that it was based on, or imitative of, his work, but that he did not actually have anything to do with making the print. (You may know this already but since you didn't mention it I thought I'd say something.)
