The beautiful, large (12 inch long and 6 inch high) stone seal was created in 2004 by Gilbert Hay. The signature on the side says:

Gilbert Hay

Nain Labrador

August 2004

Nunatsiavut

It is made of anorthosite, which is granite with specks of Labradorite that add blue sparkles to the stone. The question for @komokwa and @Mark London or others is the base. In the same donation, a large white stone with two holes was included. The resale shop wasn't sure if this was the base to the sculpture nor am I. I think there must have been two armatures in the base that might have held the seal. No other examples of his work have this kind of base, so I am asking you experts what you think. Unfortunately, as they were passing the base over the counter it fell to the floor and the ends cracked off. So if it is the base, I will need some help in how to repair. I love rock and this combines my admiration with Native People's art to it. Any help appreciated.
