    Hi,
I picked this book up today, inside was a fifty pennies note and a strip of 4 negatives. I'll put the money note and negatives in the next post.
So far, using google translation, this looks to be a family record/history book of births, marriage, deaths and religion. The stamp on the marriage record has the stamp used by the Nazi Party - would this indicate the person was a member of the party or would they have stamped every document?

here is the money - has the date Sept 9 1921 - is the date of issue? Is this real?
It is small, 2" x 4", has an embossed seal on the one side

    here are the negatives.
3 are tourist sites - Gruss Aus Herbitz and Laurenzi Kirche (printed on one)
1 is of the Pope, or it looks like it to me.

I think he's a Cardinal, not the Pope.

Keeping in mind that for all intents and purposes the Nazi Party WAS the government of Germany when this couple was married in 1942, I don't think the stamp means anything about party membership. The pre-printed info on that page is about the civil registration of the marriage (like going to the Registry Office in the UK or to City Hall to get your Marriage License in the US.)

They were Roman Catholic, so seeing a cardinal in the negative makes sense.

The Birth Registration for their son Klaus is dated in 1952 - same book, but the stamp is from a government office and has nothing to do with the Nazi Party.

Essentially, these records were a way of proving one's linage so one could conform to the Nuremberg Laws of 1935. Books such as this were fairly common and were accepted as proofs of background. Marriage as well as educational and occupational opportunities were governed by the laws passed in 1935, and the addenda that followed. Its a coincidence that I am currently writing the opening portion of the history of my grandparent's house in New York, and the indirect reason my parents and I moved in with my grandparents WAS the Nuremberg Laws. Many of my German and Austrian family saw the "writing on the wall" as it were and got out of Dodge..................

The stamps are registry office fees.
I don't think this is showing party affiliation. The stamp on the document is from a registry office - so it's just a government stamp.

The 50 pfennig banknote in mint condition is a few dollars, but Dave is right. I like to collect them because they are colorful, detailed and there are lots of variations.
