There is a maker mark comprised of overlaid initials, but I'm not having any luck decoding who it is. Does anyone have any idea of the maker. I think I'm seeing a V M and possibly J and P. Thanks! ... Dave

I think I see W R and maybe J. I wonder if that was the original owner.

German silver is an alloy. I did some quick research and can't find any info on marks by manufacturers of German silver items.

True. It is not silver or German. It is a copper nickel alloy, possibly British given the use of English for the watch name and the metal description.

The makers would be some forgotten blokes in a shed somewhere.

When I looked at the mark (which is on both frame halves), it didn't give me the impression that it was an owner's mark or amateur manufacturer. It looks like a professional mark.

Thank you say_it_slowly - nice to see some other items with the same mark. We went ahead and have ours scheduled for eBay tonight, in a few hours. Even without the full manuf name, there are enough keywords to bring people to the listing. The Lady Tess watch on the side seems like a unusual feature.
