    "Key of the heaven". The metal fittings could be silver. Are there any hallmarks on them?

    "Neuverbessserrter Himmelsschlüssel" meaning "newly revised key TO heaven". because it's a "Gebetbuch" to help "kranke und sterbende" people - meaning to help sick and dying people on their way TO heaven.
