German porcelain dish, used for???

    Hi all. Found this yesterday. Pretty porcelain dish with a Johansen Roth mark. Any ideas what it would be used for, or how i could describe it, or do i stick with the generic 'pin dish'. Measures 12cm across, 2.5cm high
