German Pewter Mark?

    Hi everybody! I would like some help with this pot. I tried to find the mark but I didn't find anything.

    Welcome, TinaTin! Can you get a better closeup of the shield and of the numbers? letters? impressed below it? Does that say 95%?

    Hi Bakersma! :) Yes, it is 95%. Maybe this photo is better IMG_20201101_2209580~2.jpg . I think the emblem shows a lion or a squirrel ( this is just my opinion:joyful:)

    Having the 95% should mean it was made in the 20th century, when the bad effects of lead in the pewter alloy became known and the percentage of the total was reduced to 5% or less.

    BTW, the shape is a tankard.

    You're welcome, Tina. I'm curious about why you called it German. Did you buy it there? Or did the previous owner say it?

    Yes, I bought it from Germany, the owner was an old man.
