I'm trying to figure out the signature on this etching (picture 2). There's also a caption at lower left, not sure at all what it reads (picture 3). I believe the piece dates to the early 1900's. Thanks! ... Dave

    Ummmmm... Badeanshalt 1? Last picture?
I can't help much with the #2 signature...
Who speaks German here? What's that caption?
Interesting... Is this a scene at a spa, or bath? Brothel?

The last picture is what we believe is the title of the piece Badeanstalt which google translate suggests is "swimming baths". I'm having trouble on the signature and the other caption figuring out what the letters are.

D'oh! I see that now. I love how the people are all just all so slouchy! One guy looks drunk, sitting. One guy's pants are falling off of him. Naked guys just standing around.

One possible clue to the artist, it looks like there is an "AS" incorporated into the etching near the lower left. I've seen other etchings where that was the artist's initials, and the sig does look like it starts with "A".

Freikorpurkultur. Always been big in Germany. A rare sandy beach on Feurteventura in the Canaries is littered with German nudists. Most of them wearing their sagging bellies as an impromtu modesty flap.

    Not a pretty sight.

Reminds me of some young folks I've talked to on some foreign beaches.

Yo, OG! I had a suspicion about the one with the A-cups up there...

Gimbler-Dave: just curious, why do you think it's from 1900?

Keeping eyes peeled for Badeanstalt II @ 18.5K!

The others are by artists Muller and Hansen (oils) and Lovis Corvinth, which looks kinda related (sold for 920):
