I found this cuff link at a flea market in Germany. I want to find out more about it. I think it's pewter or another non-precious metal. I'm having trouble identifying the lettering on it. It looks like: Jahre 700 (or 100). 1200-1900(or 1960) . Stadt Bravna. Now, here's where things get tricky. It appears to be a commemorative cuff link for the seven-hundredth anniversary of the city's founding. But I haven't been able to find any German town named Bravnav, and the coat of arms has me baffled. Similarly, I can't tell if the date is 1960 or 1900, but I want to say it's the latter because the first set of numbers appears to be 1200. 20170701_161554.jpg

It is Braunau am Inn in Austria, near the German border, where a certain madman was born.
The v should be read as u. The dates are 1260 - 1960, so it dates from 1960.

Thanks! It didn't occur to me that they might be Austrian. Now, I'm going to have to decide what I'm going to do with it. Don't really want to repurpose them into jewelry anymore...

Yes, that blue and white part is very Bavarian. It is just across the border from Bavaria, maybe it was once part of it. A.H. certainly acted as if it was.

Maybe you'll find another one somehow. They may have made commemmorative tokens, the same but without the link. Add a cuff link to it, and you've got a near pair.
