    Hi guys,

I know this is german from scraps that were on the of the frame. They aren't useful other than helping date the frame to the forst half of the 20th century.

I do need help trying to decipher the handwritten title and signature. I think the title is also in German.

    Thank you for any help.

From what I can see of the frame, doesn't appear to be that old (early 20th century.) As always, we (well, me) ask that photographs of artwork be photographed with entire frame both front and back. These are typically souvenir prints done by local artists. If you haven't done so already, you may want to open the back up and see what you find.

I don't why I didnt just post some originally. I always dislike taking the original backing from frames but somebody beat me to it and took the label.

Thanks for finding the place. Looks so clear now

    I was thinking 40's

Well, there you go. Language about being an original etching. Souvenir fer sure. Frame looks post-trials. Late 1940s/early 1950s.

You may be able to narrow dates down by doing a little research into German fonts.
