haven't got home yet but cant wait to post this- what do you think? It’s cheap so not a risky gamble, I would be happy either way! eace1dc0a2216a0669bb1ceb4de02333.jpeg

Nice! But I don’t think it is Georgian.
The closure (which may be a replacement) is an Asian-Indian S clasp.

Yes it's definitely a replacement (much newer and marked silver), and I just got home and tested it with acid, and it seems more like silver than brass pinchbeck? Some links did turn white, unlike the way brass tarnishes. Anyway, I will still wear my georgian style chain happily haha tho not everyone is seeing georgian:joyful:

Btw if it's not Georgian what time do you think it's from? The seller says 1950s 1.jpg 2.jpg

Haha okay, I should not challenge seller's professionalness in vintage jewellery dealing, but as I said, love the georgianness in it! :hilarious: Thank you

A proper Georgian one looks handcrafted, with each individual protuberance properly delineated. I don’t think this is that. It’s pretty and wearable.

Seconded. The clasp is the kind I find and reuse early and often, but the chain is older, probably 50s or 60s.
