My dear mother was going through her antiques collection and was wondering about this framed, solid gold coin of George Washington. It was left to her by a woman she cared for 20 years ago. Coin itself is about 2 inches in diameter.

    solid gold ?

Is it marked as such on the reverse?

Matter of fact......just what IS on the reverse?

Second picture is the back. Doesn't say solid gold but the coin is completely non magnetic. Maybe I'm off on that?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's likely brass....which won't hold a magnet....

any gold content....would be marked as such.

Looks right, I wonder why the reverse side doesn't have the writing.

Can you take it out of the case? I had some bronze medals to sell a few years ago and a lot of them were marked on the rim.
