Any idea which it is?!. It’s on a tea caddy spoon. I know it’s not of value, just interested. 1626929E-B999-4FB5-BDC5-4094F6CC56D4.jpeg

From that profile I'd say Edward ... Joy.

You are very welcome. Researching something like this is not much different from the investigations into cameo subjects I do so much of the time. :)

I've got a cameo brooch that I acquired with some other bits and pieces- do you mind if I post a photo for your opinion?. It looks a bit faded and cheap to me but has some age to it. They arent my passion but every day is a learning day!

    Hi,
I always thought the profile of the Sovereign faced right or left depending on when they had their coronation. that is why I thought it was Edward. Am I misinformed???

Here's the profiles of Edward and George both facing left featured on brass threepence pieces.

It is Edward we think from looking at the likeness in Bronwens post above.

Edward VIII is the only occasion in the last few hundred years where the convention of alternating the monarchs profiles was not exactly followed, but I think as Edward was never crowned, and very few coins produced, they decided to call him a non-event and act as if he never happened, so George VI in effect followed George V on the coins and the tradition was maintained.

That's really interesting. I love this forum for all the extra info you learn from a question. I had no idea the monarch profiles were alternated.

    Hi AF,
Thank you for your explanation. So it is true that the profiles are alternated.
