I have this George Jones ironstone soup tureen? that I'm unable to date. The mark is not shown in Godden's nor is it on thepotteries.org site. I'm guesstimating c1850-60. Can anyone verify? Handle-handle about 12" x about 7" to top of finial. Also, would there happen to be a pattern name? It's fairly plain except the beads on the handles and finial. There s a small chip on the inner rim that fits inside the bowl and a flake chip under the edge of the spoon slot. :-( [IMG]

Medals such as that shown were awarded at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1867. So probably shortly after that.

Maybe you should send that mark off to The Potteries?

Thank you. I'll try to send the mark to them.
