E6B56222-F9D5-4D64-AAD1-F018B45105E5.jpeg Any idea what these are? Thought citrine maybe but really more red. Garnet? Guessing not ruby? Hard to say for sure probably from this photo.

Looks like glass from this end, but they could be garnet. Most garnet beads are a darker purply red, but there are lots of lighter-colored garnets.

Not citrine, which is yellow-orange. Hard to tell about these because they are strung on red thread, which is making them look more red than they really are. Doesn't look like a bracelet to me, although 7 1/2 inches is the standard length of a woman's bracelet in the US. This is the way semi-precious stone beads come when you buy them to make into jewellery.

Do you have only the photo, not the beads themselves? Would really love to see what one looks like off the thread.

I think the paper is about what the rest of the beads were used for. I agree these are on temporary stringing.

Could be garnet, could be glass.
Do you know someone with a tester?

Agree, it is virtually impossible to ID stone like this from a photo :(

I thought the same thing of the string making it look more red. I did pop one off before posting yesterday to check. It doesn’t look too much different. Here’s some pics. 3783C2F6-C5DD-41E9-A678-438C73F77622.jpeg 095D7121-D0BE-4FC0-AEBC-B6929741B3EC.jpeg 286A2EDD-F0E7-4DB6-9F41-AAFFD966AE45.jpeg

    I don’t know anyone with a tester.

Also no offense, (this reference may be below some folks here, or over their head depending on how you look at it) but a quick glance at your avatar and the first thing that came to mind was Mr. Hankey from South Park. I couldn’t not share, sorry. :)

Could be glass but I’m leaning to stone. They came with a bunch of other similar stone beads. They are pretty cool to touch and I don’t see bubbles or anything in them.

A place far, far away! Or pretty close, depending on where you are. I tend not to share that. If you’re asking to possibly help with a tester I do appreciate it very much and would tell you privately. Northern and eastern in North America though.

I wouldn’t bet strongly against it!

It really does look a lot like Hankey and tis the season. Offense not meant.

I think glass. Pyrope or almandine garnet is more of a maroon color. Any garnet used for beads will be lower quality and will have inclusions and cloudy areas.
These beads look way too clean to be natural garnet.
Use a loupe or magnifying glass to look for dark specks or other inclusions that indicate natural stone.
    Glass will have bubbles.
