Featured Gaudy Welsh style diamond shaped dish

    Next up from the broken pottery stall. It's a diamond shaped dish with a kind of fusion between rococo and gaudy Welsh for the decor. Nothing to identify it other than the numerals '103'. Dish is 21cm square

    That’s a very nice Georgian shell dish. It’s not Gaudy Welsh. The number is a pattern number. Possibly Minton.

    Ooh that's nice to know. Thank you. How do you define gaudy Welsh then? Seems very similar to this to me, but as you say, it's not.

    It’s very similar to Gaudy Welsh but this is more finely painted and doesn’t seem to have any lustre.
