I hope you all are having a good start of the New Year!
I have not been able to find much treasure these last weeks. I did manage to get rid of some lesser jewelry pieces. Which brings in some cash to buy good things in the future! Nice!

I did manage to find this Fumsup touch on wood brooch-guy for little.
He was a bit dirty when I got him, but now he s a happy little fellow.

You can see the difference a little elbow grease makes in the pictures! (Pictures on marble background are the 'after') :cat:

He s a WWI good luck charm. You can read the story about these here on the forum, with the little silver charm I posted here earlier.

This guy doesn't have the brand name written on it, so I guess he was an unofficial release.
These dolls were popular in their time!
He also has a bundle of some sort on his shoulders, maybe something to start a fire? I m just guessing here...
So, how do you like my newest addition to the collection?

    Yay!:)
    He certainly looks happier.
I don't know if there were official Fumsups and unofficial ones?
He also has painted face, which the others don't have. But just as cute as the others.
Just wondering though, when you knock on wood, isn't that supposed to be unpainted wood?
No idea. "Keep the homefires burning" symbolism?

AJ thanks for your reply and the likes!
I did find these guys with 'Fumsup' written on their belly.
    (Not my picture)

Never heard about Keep the homefires burning, but it sounds logical so you could be right. IMG_4289.jpeg

I have the same one, except mine has lost its eyes. It is on the charm necklace my oma gave me when I was a little girl. I have no idea how she got it, and only heard later what it meant.

I don't think there is an official version, anyone could make them, only some are silver or gold, and some are base metal. The one in post #3 is silver, as is mine.

All people are different so its good that all Fumsup s are different too! gold, silver, metal, shiny eyes, no eyes...:hilarious:

I really like my metal guy! I might even shine him up some more :joyful:
