King..Wanna collect something really Jersey? Try Stangl bird figurines.
Fulper became Stangl in the 30s. The company history actually dates back to 1805 right here in Jersey.

We collect Stangl birds in part because of their Jersey genesis.

They can be had for anywhere from 20 bucks to several thousand. There are over a hundred birds, based on Audubon prints. You can spend a lifetime in the enjoyable pursuit of these little works of art.

Here's a few from our collection.

    Wow! Nice! Thank you!
I think I'd especially like anything that came out of the Pine Barrens.

Glass...But that glass can be very expensive. Blown glass from early 1800s glass houses spread throughout south Jersey, including a lot of the pine barrens can be 10s of thousands of dollars. Of course old bottles made by most of those glass factories can be had for as little as a couple of dollars. Many pre Civil War pictorial/historical flasks were blown in the pine barrens region bearing their makers marks. Coffin and Hay, Hammonton, and Waterford Glass Works (near batsto) are two good examples. These flasks run from around a hundred bucks to several thousand depending on rarity and color.

:) Been to Batsto but not on an active day but the history facility there is amazing in itself. It's so well done. I've done display work and theirs is first class. :) I even wrote to tell them so.

Hi King - Also look at Trenton Art Pottery if you want more traditional designs and glazes. It can be incredibly inexpensive (for some reason it doesn't have much of a following yet) and Trenton's not too far from the Pine Barrens.
