Is this considered chromolithograph or other type of reproduction?

Where's Gila when we need her? This looks like it's been around a while.

Don't know if it's been around or made to look like. I don't know if any age would matter as it is a type of print.

Pleaseeeeee, someone do lend the lady eyebrow tweezers! There are suppose to be 2 and not a longgggg 1.

Just realized this is a self portrait of her the painter, Frida Kahlo de Rivera. On the Wiki... page about her, is a pic of one of those "Day of the Dead" Catrinas portraying her with one longgggg eyebrow.

    :)
Yep, I know it is a repro and I know the original, it's mix media.
I wonder if it's just one of the million repros out there or more interesting because it is somewhat older and on canvas

I am starting to doubt that this is a chromolithograph. The original was done in 1938, that is too late for this kind of printing process.
Also, why such a difference in the colors?

Sun exposure, probably. I rather like her; it looks like an old outdoor mural.

I would think that the piece never had those bright colors as the original. Maybe done on purpose like that.

Well I'll be! This afternoon the final Jeopardy question was

"The title of a Frida Kahlo painting inspired the 3-word name of this 2008 No. 1 hit by a British group." They played th song while the contestants were writing their answers.

The correct answer was "What is Viva la Vida?" It was by Coldplay.

Needless to say I didn't know the answer. Before today I hadn't heard of Kahlo, and then have her name pop-up in 2 different places. Spooky!

I'd heard of Frieda, but bedarned if I've ever heard the Coldplay tune. Maybe I have, but their titles often aren't part of the lyrics.
