French DOA Teapot

    Hi jhernjh & welcome to our forum!!! :happy::happy::happy:

    This tea pot was painted by someone who bought a blank white Limoges teapot & then painted the design herself. It use to be a favorite activity for ladies around the turn of the century to do this type of activity. Search for the word hobbyist & you will likely find more items.

    The maker of the blank doesn't matter on hobbyist work, but, just so you know, it says GDA, for Gerard Dufraisseux Abbot.

    Although difficult to see in the pics, I believe I can make out the GDA mark just above the 9 in 1902, but as janetpjohn said, it doesn't matter who made the blank on hobbyist work
