Hi, I'm new to the forum. Can anyone give me some advice and value on a French cast iron chandelier I have acquired. Thanks.

Sean - what KoT is asking is for you to use the "Full Size" option when attaching the file rather the "Thumbnail" option.

I don't think you can do size changes there. Mine won't do so... But Bakers is correct. :)

Sean, when you attached that first picture, how did you do it? If you used the "Upload a File" button (next to Post Reply below the reply box), you should have had the option (after the picture file uploaded) to use Thumbnail or Full Size. Does that ring a bell?

    Should be full size now.

Tried to insert the pic but it is too large.

Besides the issue with the pic, what is the question? This looks like a newer chandelier to me. Probably wasn't always this flat black.

I know nothing about lighting. Was offered it for a steal but seen some on websites that give them value but not sure what I have. Lol

It's extremely heavy and the wiring looks very old.

    It's wired?
Are those real candles or something else?

Yep it's wired...the lamp holders are simulated....id say the wiring looks old so would need re-wiring. I've seen one very similar on eBay which is French provincial but the price tag on that one is huge.

My first thought would have been spanish , circa 1960s or so . I love this stuff myself .

Those candle things, if meant to be lights are not what I would expect to see on an older fixture.
