French Bronze jewelry casket

    A guy is trying to sell me this. Sorry for the horrible photos, not his strong suit.
    Can any tell be if you think it is bronze or ?

    Ugh.Impossible to tell with those pics.The lining makes me think older. I really like the top .He didnt have a pic of the bottom? I tried blowing it up but I just cant tell if the plaques are hand painted,wich I would expect of a quality piece. A lot of stuff like this was made in the 80s when excess was everything in decorating. That being said,I love it but I can be a tad gaudy !
