Not sure if it’s the top of the “stacking cabinet” or if someone in the past took the original base off. There are holes in the bottom... Any ideas?

    Any ideas on value?

    Thanks!

Doing an image search, it looks like a F. L. Wright piece, but it is missing the important bottom.

Since they term it a 'stand', guess it's a separate & optional component, but would definitely be an asset to have it. Good work on the woodwork!

Agrees, generally speaking, the base or feet are a big deal to furniture collectors.

A quick google brought these up, this line of furniture was made by Henredon in High Point NC. Not a clue on value, wait for others to post who are more familiar with MCM furniture which is HOT at the moment but, that missing base will hurt value.

This was mass produced by Henredon so not on the same par as the Wright furniture made for his houses. Still has value beyond what much MCM furniture has. Henredon is one of the premier makers of furniture in the US and their production of this line was somewhat limited due to it being expensive when new. As James suggests, not having the entire piece will limit appeal and value.

Here is the most recent example I could find of a complete cabinet being sold. $2600.00

This pair of cabinets without a base sold for $950.00

Yeah, that figures, quite a drop in price.

Particularly telling that they are from the same auction house and only 2 months apart.
