I believe the set to be all complete and original but almost none of the hallmarks match in date. The jars are 1905, the brush is 1907, and the comb is 1910.

Nice to see the teeth of the comb still intact. Hard to find replacements for them.

That's what gripped me, too. Often they're completely wrecked. The silver is almost tin-foil thin. I'm amazed that's survived!!

Christening gift, put away in a drawer and never used.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for that. I did wonder about the "FOR BABY"!! :p I shall have to re-name this in my sales advert...

    Beautiful, Shangas.
I agree, classic birth or christening present. For Baby, no name, could mean for a birth, although there were certainly ready-made christening gifts.

The different dates have me intrigued. Given it was bought in India and just post-Victorian with British influence, would it have been possible to have walked into the store and selected individual items that were assembled as a one off into the Christening box? There are slight variations on the flowers between the brush and the jars, and I just wondered if this service in a fine store like Orr and Sons was possible.

They still operate today concentrating on fine watches.
