Last night, I was watching Russel Crowe in the movie, The Water Diviner. The movie takes place in 1919. Crowe's character is eating in the dining room of the hotel in which he's staying. The woman serves him coffee in a demitasse cup that I recognized as Belleek. When he drank from it, the mark on the bottom was Green, not Black. So how dorky am I? LOL!!

I find myself to the same thing; like in season one of Penny Dreadful c. pre1900+/- (if I remember correctly). There is a very close-up scene with absinthe reservoir glasses and they have safety edges which wasn't invented until round 1927.

    >I would love to be the continuity person for movies.
I'm often shocked at how bad this can be handled and for things even much more obvious.
    >Though, of course, not as obvious to most> I flipped out, for an example, in the theatre for 'My Cousin Vinny' when they showed the photo of the tire marks in front of the 'Sack-O-Suds'.
    >I knew this was BS right off but of course didn't know it would be one key to the court argument for Marisa Tomei. ;)
    >Then the '55 Chevy engine size question darn near got me out of my seat! ;)
    >Navy stuff does this to me a lot as well.
In NCIS I especially love them showing a ship underway in one direction then later the same ship sailing in another direction...but her hull # is backwards. :)

I love picking out the antiques.....in Murdoch Mysteries ..
Shot in Toronto , circa 1900......they do an excellent job for the time period......but I'm always on the lookout for goofs.

I don't see anything out of time, just out of place...prominently out of place, unless there's another use for it.

Hah! I though that was an old timey horn of some sort. LOL!

There used to be a person who visited a lot of the ebay boards who was looking for items from movies and TV shows. Somewhere in my bookmarks is a site for collectors of Star Trek stuff, especially drinking glasses, mostly mid-century "modern" designs, as seen on the Starship Enterprise and other places. It's a hoot!

Should anyone have a need to know this, Gene Tierney's china in TG & Mrs. Muir, is Real Old Willow.

Just see if you can reference that at your next cocktail party... :)
