Was prowling yesterday & a little piece caught my eye-it's a small acrylic on board by a fairly well-known artist by the name of L.B. Porter.I'm not a devoted fan of Western Art,but at $40,the price was right.
Mr. Porter's more expensive pieces portray semi-nude NA & Latina women and cowboys. But this quirky little piece seemed at the price worth gambling on.
    Size-10" x 10" image size,18" x 18" outside frame size.
Can't find any subject's online like this old house,so i think i'll have to contact his dealer.
Check out his other works, fine design sense & a very sure hand-a real pro.I unfortunately can't mail L.B.,he passed in 2021.
P.S.-That's not a mat board surrounding the painting. He painted the mat color, gold leaf edge and image all on one surface-there's previous examples. The frame's a ready-made from Brazil, some of his 5K-15K pieces have 'off the shelf' frames stamped 'Mexico' (he was a 'Depression Baby' like my folks;).

Superb brush control, like the kind of hand/eye coordination great pin stripers have. You'll see in his larger works how he enjoyed using patterns, esp in his tree branches. His motifs have the feel of stained glass or batik in some pieces. This is really one of his smaller simpler pieces. His other work is worth checking out.
PS-I really would like to find out more about this humble little house.Perhaps his or someone's birthplace ?

I looked at a lot of his paintings, and I like yours the best by far.

Well thanks Book-it's definitely one his more down to earth images.A true gritty portrait of where he might have been raised. He grew up in the West Texas town of El Paso during the Depression,it's a stone's throw from Ciudad Juarez-not the friendliest town in Mexico.
It's 'No Country for Old Men' territory.
