I found a gold nose ring (I think too small for an earring, unless a child's earring). It looks like 14kt gold but the only mark I can find is KS. Is this the maker's mark? I can't find any other marks. It's so small, it's amazing that I found the one mark. The people who buy gold around here will test it, but I would like to know ahead, if possible. Wish I could find the owner, but that seems impossible. Hope the photos are OK, it was hard holding the litle thing still and get the camera close enough.

Yes, I looked at nose ring on line and most women wore them real close to the edge of the skin. And this one has a different way of clasping. There is hinge on the ring part that snaps down onto the wire that goes through the nose. So I thought it might fit. Or maybe it's a child's earring. I wouldn't be able to wear this as an earring. Maybe if someone has the ear lobes that are not detached from the head could wear it.

I think it’s a child’s earring, my daughter had similar earrings when she was a baby... ;)

Might be K S for Kate Spade. I don't have a clue how i knew that.

Yes, that would make sense. The clasp doesn't snap real tight any longer so that may explain why it was laying on the sidewalk.

Thanks, I'll check that out. Just googling gold and KS brought me too many businesses selling gold in Kansas, LOL!

This little thing won't even register on my postal scale, it's so lightweight. Next time I have any scrap gold to take to the scrapper, I'll probably just include this. I hope it wasn't a keepsake for someone.

That's a 'huggie hoop' - they come in various diameters, and are indeed often worn by kids, but adults wear them as well. These are mine, about the same size at 13mm, 14K w/CZs, bought new around 20 years ago, as often happened, my Mom covetously admired them, and she wore them often because they were so comfortable - now they're mine again, worn in my top piercings (both in the lobes), seldom take them off, barely noticed, with a very secure catch:

They're usually paired with these white and yellow 14K French-back Italian earrings:

Thanks, Cheryl I didn't think of the back earring (I have 2 piercings per ear also). As I get older, I haven't worn earrings as much and seldom wear the 2nd pair at all. I tried this earring and it would work well for the back piercing and the size would be very nice. But I'll have to bend the clasp a bit or it will fall out. Huggie Hoop, who knew?

I used to have three piercings in each ear, but only use one now. Could it be old age?:playful:
It used to look pretty, wearing one earpendant with graded earstuds in the same style.

Eh, I'm old and pretty much always wear two pairs, I like the look, and choosing which pairs complement each other - earrings are really the only jewelry I wear consistently. 'Curated ear' multiple piercings have become fairly popular here - not anything I can see myself doing at all.

Mom wore those as regular earrings, and I bought them for the bottom holes because I kept losing earrings when I was tending bar (kept screw-back diamond studs in the top holes), it was high volume, I moved fast, and others would go flying when they caught in my hair. I'd only worn them a few times when she appropriated them, and the lever-backs in the second pic were the replacements - they stayed in place, but were never as comfortable as the huggies...

After I retired, makeup went first. It used to be that I would never be caught outside the house without makeup. Now, meh. Then the jewelry was next, which I think is laziness. Also didn't want to lose it as I rummaged through box lots etc. My piercings are trying to close, so I put in earrings every so often to keep them open.

I told my husband that if my clothes started to look like his oldest sister to please tell me. Well, with Covid keeping us all at home, the soft pants with elastic waistbands, ratty t-shirts and old sweaters made their way into the wardrobe and now I look like his sister used to look. I still have hard pants and wear them outside the house, along with my "better" t-shirts.
