folk art/collage art piece

    I found this and thought it was interesting. Its paper collage on board (sealed with varnish or glue) and signed "GS". I'm sure its a long shot but if anyone recognizes this artist, I'd love to know more.

    You might have better luck searching for paper mosaic instead of collage. ;)

    Takes me back to Mrs. Moffatt's 1972 high school art class, we had to bring our own boards, but she had bins full of all kinds of paper, magazines, gift wrap, colored bond, etc. I did a 'Mickey Mouse' with very small pieces (love scissors and paper) that sat on my Mom's nightstand for at least 20 years until the colors faded badly, she says she still has it somewhere. There are some very talented paper mosaic artists, but would guess this piece is more a student work than folk art...
