Fish basket

    Definitely not Native American. The technique is all wrong - such wrapped coiling with only intermittent stitches joining the coils is an expedient way of weaving. The light colored material looks like raffia, or another type of palm. The dark speckled material looks like banana leaf. I suspect a Pacific origin.
