So I think I get the prize. I was so excited I could hardly stand the drive home. I went to a garage sale in my little farming town. Not much of value . I bought some things . But I always take another walk around. I spotted a big box full of flower pots. I always check flower pots and baskets. Peeking out of the bottom I could see a pot of black glaze. My heart was literally racing in hopes that it was what I thought it was and prayed it was not broken. In absolutely perfect shape. How it was not broken under all of those pots is a miracle. All flower pots were $2 each. How would a farmer from a small town like ours come by a Martinez pot ? Same way my parents did from the same small town. I bet They went to New Mexico on their honey moon. In the mid 1940's it seem to be the thing to . maria 2.jpg maria a.jpg maria 3.jpg

Looks like it is Alice Martinez rather than Maria. Still a good find!

I changed the title. In my defense besides bad eyes at my age ,the writing is in pencil and hard to read. I think i wanted it to be Maria so that is what I saw.

SCORE! All I ever see here are those inscribed 80s and later souvenir pieces.

Nice score! San Ildefonso is a smaller Pueblo than Santa Clara and others, so finding pieces from there is even rarer.
