Stopped in at my local Illwill to look for books and happened to see this on the shelf, imagine my surprise when right on top of the base was the 835 mark with crown and makers mark. Was marked 3.98 ( stuff like this used to be .99 or 1.99 ) so it came home with me. Maker Grimminger Jacob in Germany. 6 1/2 inches high weight 72.9 grams ( small weighted base )

Congrats-What makes it hyper- rare is the fact it was found at a GW.

Hehe, guessing the 'Grimminger Jacob' ID came from Giorgio's 'silvercollection.it' site - truly curious, are commas, which would indicate the proper order, not used in Italian?

If it was in an Ill Will it's a proverbial Unicorn.

I pulled so much silver from them, but indeed the last few years theyve clamped way down ! On everything remotely valuable. You can still find a treasure, but its the exception to the rule.

I drive by them these days-times too precious & there's still a few poss 'honey holes' around (sometimes !).

I used to have one until Covid killed it. They closed down "for the duration" and never opened again. Gone for good.

    Awesome find!

Indeed! You could legitimately say "Rare Find" (omit ...from the Goodwill) if selling, lol.
