Hi there. They will want to see the base and any signatures.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Pretty... yes, pics of the bases would be great. Also, sizes of the figures.

    I like them.

Fig Is it usual for the backs of figures like this to be unpainted and the surface to be rough? Kiko

Hi Kiko - not Fig but I can tell you that it was common for the backs of these to be left unpainted. These were mass produced and there was a lot of competition. The manufacturers figured that no one would see the back so why go to the expense of painting it? Usually these types of figurines are circa 1900 but I'm not sure on these. Usually the bottoms are recessed, are not flat, and the hole is smaller. There are more recent Chinese copies out there. Like Fig, though, I like these. I am anxious to see what Fig thinks now that the bottom photos are here.

Thanks, Don -- I don't know anything about these but I knew people who might know something would want to see the bottom view. And also wanted to mention that I like them!

Maybe they are supposed to look Alpine? Bavarian? Swiss? Just guessing...

I understand, Fig. I'm really leaning towards new because of the bright white and flat bottoms but I'm prepared to be wrong.

I can see what you mean, Don. The bottoms don't look old.
