I found this tag inside this Fenton Candy Box, however, every Candy Box I have seen in the Daisy Button pattern is described as iridized and not carnival glass. Do you think this tag went with another piece like this butterfly dish? Thank you.

The aqua daisy and button would be described as iridescent not carnival.
The butterfly bowl would be described as carnival.

Carnival is a type of iridescent glass. Usually pressed glass, in amber, green, blue, or purple iridescent. To me it has a heavy look to it.

    From the Corning Glass Museum:

    Iridescence
The rainbow like effect that changes according to the angle from which it is viewed or the angle of incidence of the source of light. On ancient glass, iridescence is caused by interference effects of light reflected from several layers of weathering products. On certain 19th- and 20th-century glasses, iridescence is a deliberate effect achieved by the introduction of metallic substances into the batch or by spraying the surface with stannous chloride or lead chloride and reheating it in a reducing atmosphere.

Old workers called iridescent glass "doped" for the metallic spray. Carnival refers to style not color. They old glass was not called carnival by the maker that is a collector/dealer description to sell old glass. In the post WW2 era we should use what ever the maker used. The carnival collectors club may have a definition. Both of the examples are pressed. Carnival collectors describe/classify color by the color of the glass with the exception of colorless glass which is called marigold.

Your Fenton pieces of glass are Iridized Carnival Glass made since 1971-72. Considered new. Here is a site for old Carnival Glass Auction prices.

Thank you everyone and thank you for links. :) Last week I had this discussion with a friend who wanted to know why some pieces are considered Carnival and other pieces of iridized glass, like Bohemian pieces, are just iridized.

That's one of the reasons why I was questioning the pamphlet and if it belonged to another piece.
