If you need to get a drink in the middle of the night you would have a cup and candle to find your way?
it stands 8" tall, both pieces are stamped with the three marks.
I have no idea how old it is either. any thoughts would be appreciated.

In case you didn't know already, 'fecit' is Latin for (he) made - so made by VCM in this case.

Hi, Mikey. No I have not seen it. At least it doesn't look familiar. I went looking for it on Pat's site yesterday, and it wasn't there either. Nor did he have a section on Portugal. Don't really know where else to go.

    I'm curious. Why Portugal?

From the internet... Some VCM pieces are said to be marked "Vermeer VCM" and some are marked "VCM Porto." The company made decorative pieces for Saks so quality must be good.

Ah... And some are marked "De Campos." According to this, De Campos was established in 1963 and makes decorative pewter items.

So a repro of some earlier style item?

From a quick internet browse, it appears some earlier pieces are original designs by a Quevedo de Campos (and are marked with his name) and some pieces are reproductions of older pieces and/or inspired by older pieces. That's just from a quick browse mind you. There doesn't seem to be much information about the company despite having its name and location.

So maybe this is a reproduction of an older piece, But what is it. The cup is small like a child's cup, but there is a rim on the top with a notch cut out for the candle holder.
Only the three marks on the bottom. maltese cross, clover with the vcm, and the squiggly line mark?
Thank you all for the great information
