We can't find any signatures but I've never seen one or can find one like it. Reminds me of the fat lava vases but this one stands about 40" tall. Also what kind of shade do you guys think would best suit it?

    Same here haha

    Is this Vallauris-ish?
Or there was a German vase in a thread recently that had that same effect all over it...

Maybe I should have called it somethingelse? I know the vases thst look similar have been called fat lava hence why I put that in the title..

No, you were absolutely right, it is German fat lava pottery.
The lamp the others were thinking of is a lava lamp.

I think I used to see these with a tall tubular shade, also with tall shades that tapered slightly towards the top. Always tall shades.

I'm used to seeing cylinder-shaped shades about the same diameter as the lamp.

A tall and cylindrical shade, I'd think. Along the lines of this... But not too tall that the table can't be properly used. Off white linen and I even like the idea of a trim to give it some visual weight.

That is one unusual lava pottery lamp with the glass table component! I've never seen remotely similar. Pretty cool. Are you planning to keep the lamp?

Debora has a good suggestion for the kind of shade to look for.

It might be take a while to find a shade that is just right.

A bit of an investment but... Always better to have a shade made than buy one off-the-shelf.

If you take it apart, there's a good chance you will find a maker's mark on the bottom. But if you start loosening things up, the various parts might start moving in unexpected ways and you would have to be very careful to avoid breakage, particularly of that glass piece (expensive to replace).

The bottom looks like a vase, and the extended neck looks like a separate piece added to turn it into a lamp.

Agree that less fiddling the better.

I tried separating out the vase, but it didn't do me any good.

Looks a bit like Haeger Earth Wrap but a bit different. I know they made some spectacular specialty items with similar glazes. This might be one.
