20220131_190112.jpg I know this desk is from the 1930s and is a lincoln typewriter/secretary desk. I don't know anything else about the desk. Does anyone know the value or history of desks like this?

Lots of these out there from commercial applications. Not much use for the mechanism/function these days so value in minimal.

I plan on sanding it down and putting a new stain and finish on it.

It needs a lot of help. It was in an abandoned house for 10 years. It's gonna be a restoration project so it can stay in the family.

Nice one! A little TLC is bound to go a long way with oak. Check out the Early Office Museum for some pointers. https://www.officemuseum.com/
Just an idea: always thought one could attach a box for files or something where the typewriter goes without modifying anything.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Best of luck with it. That would give it a new life!
