Fake or Real Simon & Halbig Porcelain Doll?

I bought this 19 inches porcelain doll at a used store. It has the markings but I do not think it has the "something special" (since I do not know doll speak) that an expensive doll should have, so am thinking it could be a fake. The eyes do not open and close. The hair is either glued on or something. Would really appreciate any thoughts on this? Thank you. I'm not a doll person, but I remembered that Simon and Halbig made reproductions of their old dolls in the 1980s. They weren't meant as fakes or even close, but people are sometimes fooled. There was a huge doll collecting craze for a while and the dolls were sold as modern.

Oh thanks. So new in 1980s Simon and Halbig dolls that were supposed to look like the older ones. Thank you.

To add to what Eveylb said every thrift I go to has at least 2 or 3 shelves full of dolls like this. It was a huge collecting phase, and even my mother got into it. When we moved I tried to donate boxes full of them and not one thrift wanted them ! Some of them mother spent good money on . I finally got rid of them by putting them by the road and posting on freecycle. Someone came and picked them up,thank god. Or else she'd have wanted to drag them back in ! Like Hummels or Collector plates, theres zero market for these and barely a market left for the antique ones.

It's like anything else, the top end of the market is still there, but the bottom fell out of the rest. Jumeau dolls still command a big price tag, although less than before, but regular old "china dolls" from the 80s sell for about $5 each in Goodwill. If they're in the box, that is.
